Her part of luring Mr Bodell to Alaska was to offer a piece of land in the families name to Mr Bodell so he would move too Alaska because they thought o him as family..

Due to Mr Bodell's advanced age and declining health he figured that since he was putting Jody on his will he would just give it to jody in exchange for a life estate. He even paid the taxes on the land.

When Jody told Mr Bodell he was going to evict him, he asked Charce to give him a letter about his life estate. She ignored the request because she didn't want to get tied up in this scam due to her criminal record.
